I've been an admirer of your blog for some time now without having asked a question, although I've definitely had one for some time now: What do you do for a living? Or, more importantly, what can one do to emulate your style? Is it possible without having a considerable amount of discretionary income? I'm 23 and nearly done with university, and I find myself consistently jealous of your style and (on the occasion that you post pictures of your friends) the company that you keep.
This comes up quite often..
We have to to look past the first layer & understand that what you see is a developmental process that takes time & not just $$$.
In my case I am almost double you age & hence have gone through a few cycles of ups & downs (more downs than ups). Through this time I have accumulated a wealth of useless knowledge & landfill to the point that I had to start purging every 6 months. I now am very honest with what I like/want & ruthless with what I don’t like/want.
I look at the youth of today & sit back in awe - the amount of media/information you are confronted is truly unfair as you begin to start questioning yourself & wondering what others are doing right. Chances are others are saying the same when they see you.
What I have learn’t is to take each day as it comes & nothing is forever.
Smile, enjoy what you have & then start again.
Thank you for taking the time to post & good luck.
To follow up on the not ironing, I really think any 100% cotton of any decent quality doesn't need to be ironed, at least in shirts. From Brooks supima OCBds on up, no iron and still no messed up collars or plaquets. If you're grabbing jcrew then an iron may be necessary. It's all about the nice, true cotton
I have been invited to speak about creativity at a web 2.0 conference.
Everybody dresses with jeans and black T-shirts or similar.
I have always dress with tie. In a kind of casual/modern style, but tie.
Should I wear tie?
Should I dress for the ocasion?
Thanks in advance
Dress your self, it is daunting enough to present so be comfortable.
Good luck & start a revolution about html5 v Adobe or really go out in the loop & deconstruct “cloud infrastructure” into PRIVATE v PUBLIC..
Oh.. Don’t wear a ‘felt lapel flower’ as that will really raise the air..
