The answer is in your question, you come from a ‘casual industry’ & I work in a corporate environment where my role is client facing on an senior executive level.

Also, I am a lot older than the tumblr demographic (as I have discovered) though look younger.

& I’m not considered average or “normal” in my industry, I just take care, effort, respect & humour in my approach.

I know my colleagues scratch their heads thinking why is he in a suit tie today when he has no meetings scheduled & my retort is that I represent the company as soon as I step outside. 

Nothing worse than bumping into a client or prospect & looking like I have no self respect for me (or them) - even during after-business hours.
