Her colours today reminded me of the way Gwyneth Paltrow was dressed for ‘Great Expectations’ The movie was alright, the costume design for Estella was in all different hues of green if I remember correctly.
Yes - this is the 2nd time the cotton SoRaro has seen the sun this week. I’m going to get maximum usage out of it this summer..

My Monday Guido
Some say it’s too much..
In my opinion the collar area should not be neglected as this is what frames your face & most importantly what others see when talking to you.
Too many times I see men wearing open collar shirts that do not stand proud - that is their shirt collars look limp & start to hide under the jacket or sit flat.
So a proud collar stands up & not limps away.
Just my opinion - but do go & start replacing your shirts when the time comes & pay attention to:
- Collar points - they need to at a minimum meet your suit lapel. You do not want a gap between collar point & jacket
- Collar band - make sure it stands proud. Some of my shirts have 2 button bands - this is personal & not essential
- Collar roll - try & look back at all my shirt collars & you will notice there is always a “roll” unless it is a spread collar with boning or stiffeners
- Enough cloth for movement, but not too much so as to resemble a “pirate shirt”
- Shirt shoulder sits on or over the shoulder point not before (no different to a suit jacket)
- Nothing wrong with darts in the body to add shape, plenty wrong if it looks like you are wearing a “girls blouse”
- Shirt body length needs to be long enough to stay tucked in
- Quality of buttons - I like thick (3 -4mm) mother of pearl
- French cuff (double cuff) or single - your choice as there is a place for both
